Yonge Eglinton Centre
RioCan, Toronto
Located at one of Toronto’s busiest and fastest-growing intersections, Yonge Eglinton Centre has evolved into a vibrant urban destination that blends retail, dining, entertainment, and transit connectivity at the heart of Midtown Toronto.
The Centre is a contemporary, digitally connected environment that reflects the energy and momentum of the surrounding neighbourhood.
KDA developed a comprehensive branding, digital media, signage, and wayfinding program for the Centre as part of its major redevelopment. Central to the strategy was an architecturally integrated exterior digital media display seamlessly embedded within the building façade, creating a dynamic urban platform for Centre programming and third-party advertising revenue. Extending the experience to inside the centre, a coordinated digital network of free-standing kiosks and an immersive atrium display was developed to synchronize seamlessly with the exterior media environment.
The broader program included the Centre’s brand identity, environmental graphics, pedestrian and vehicular wayfinding, parking guidance, and tenant signage standards — all designed to create a more connected, intuitive, and elevated visitor experience.
Digital Expressions, Reinforced Revenue
Strategically integrated into the building façade, the exterior digital media display transforms the Yonge Eglinton Centre into a dynamic urban landmark at one of Toronto’s highest-profile intersections. Designed by KDA to function as both architecture and media platform, the large-scale digital screen delivers an engaging visual presence while supporting first-party programming, community messaging, and third-party advertising revenue opportunities.
The result is a digital experience that contributes to the vibrancy of the Centre and energizes the urban streetscape.

Connected Digital Experiences
KDA developed a fully coordinated interior digital signage network designed to enhance communication, navigation, and visitor engagement throughout the Centre. The program includes strategically positioned free-standing digital kiosks, directory displays, and a large-scale immersive digital feature within the main atrium.
Working together as a synchronized communications ecosystem, the interior digital network can coordinate content with the exterior media display to create unified campaigns, seasonal programming, event promotions, and immersive branded experiences. It presents a cohesive digital environment that strengthens the Centre’s identity while improving the visitor experience through dynamic and adaptable content delivery.
The Iconic Cube
Inspired by the Centre’s iconic light-filled glass corner feature, KDA developed a distinctive three-dimensional cube as the defining element of the Yonge Eglinton Centre brand identity. Bold, kinetic, and contemporary, the cube captures the energy and vitality of the centre while serving as a flexible graphic device adaptable across signage, digital media, marketing campaigns, environmental graphics, and architectural detailing throughout the property.
Complementing the cube, a custom lowercase letterform was developed to convey an approachable and contemporary character while maintaining strong legibility across a wide range of physical and digital applications. Together, the elements create a cohesive and highly recognizable identity system designed to function seamlessly across static, three-dimensional, and animated environments.
Intuitive Urban Navigation
KDA developed a comprehensive interior signage and wayfinding program that provides clear, intuitive navigation throughout the Yonge Eglinton Centre across retail, parking, and public circulation areas.
Seamlessly integrated with the Centre’s material palette and finishes, the system includes directional signage, parking guidance, directories, identification signage, and tenant standards, all coordinated to create a cohesive visitor experience that improves circulation, reinforces the brand, and supports high-volume urban activity.
Central to KDA’s strategy was to deliver a transformative brand experience that served as an urban stage for the Yonge Eglinton community — one of Toronto’s fastest-growing districts. By integrating digital media, wayfinding, architecture, and branding into a unified system, the project creates an immersive and highly connected destination experience.
Stories Above The City
Located within the rooftop amenity space at Yonge Eglinton Centre, KDA conceived and designed a series of five interpretive monolithic displays representing key moments in the evolution of North Toronto – 1837, 1885, 1920, 1954, and 2020. Through the use of archival imagery, curated text, and carefully selected materials and finishes, the monoliths both literally and symbolically pay homage to the area’s history, transforming the rooftop into an engaging interpretive experience that connects visitors to the neighbourhood’s cultural evolution.
