The Daphne Cockwell Centre
for Health Sciences

George Brown College, Toronto

The Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences at George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus is a state-of-the-art academic facility that brings together teaching, research, and nursing programs under one roof. The Centre accommodates a diverse user group including students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and is designed to support high volumes of activity while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and accessible learning environment.

KDA developed a comprehensive signage and wayfinding program for the Centre, addressing both interior and exterior needs. The program was designed to support intuitive navigation, promote clarity and accessibility, and integrate donor recognition elements while reinforcing George Brown College’s brand identity.

A detailed Signage Standards and Guidelines Manual ensures the long-term consistency and adaptability of the system throughout the facility.

Campus Orientation

Exterior pedestrian wayfinding signs clearly identify building entrances, key schools, and program areas. Incorporating the building identification number and the George Brown College logo, the signs provide a consistent visual reference that reinforces the College’s brand across the waterfront campus.

Strategically located along primary pathways, the signs guide students, staff, and visitors to the appropriate entrances and destinations with clarity and ease.

Coordinated Parking

KDA developed a coordinated parking signage program that aligns fully with the overall branded signage system. Signs clearly designate parking areas, entry points, and accessible spaces, while maintaining consistency with the College’s visual identity. The parking signage enhances wayfinding for vehicles and pedestrians alike, creating a seamless transition from campus arrival to interior destinations.
