St. Michael’s College
University of St. Michael’s College &
CS&P Architects, Toronto
Established by Basilian Fathers in 1852, the University of St. Michael’s College is now home to more than 5,000 students participating in programs from astronomy and English to architecture and zoology.
As part of its redevelopment plan, headed by CS&P Architects, KDA was retained to design a signage and wayfinding program at its University of Toronto campus. KDA lead a consultation and workshop process with both faculty and student stakeholders to ensure the overall program provided effective wayfinding, as well as capture the distinctive brand character the University’s Gothic Revival buildings and picturesque parklike grounds.
Not only does KDA bring to the table highly sensitive and critical design thinking, most importantly they are skilled communicators and perceptive working partners.
Emblematic Impact
KDA’s simple, custom-designed M icon captures the ways in which St. Michael’s is rooted in tradition while offering a modern take on everything from programming to presentation.
