At 177 acres, Lakeview Village is a significant waterfront development project in Mississauga featuring residential, commercial, recreational, and cultural spaces, with the Discovery Centre positioned as its iconic landmark. Part community space, artist hub, and sales centre, the Discovery Centre is a central gathering place and community destination for residents and visitors set against a backdrop of walkable trails and waterfront.
Capturing the character of the Centre, KDA artfully incorporated architectural details and materials to create a dynamic signage program that celebrates this unique community and serves as a design catalyst for future wayfinding and engaging environmental graphics.
KDA also developed an exterior wayfinding program for Lakeview Village that purposefully creates a tangible demonstration of the public space experience for the overall Community.
The brilliant team at KDA not only crafted an integrated signage and wayfinding program for the Lakeview Village Discovery Centre they also elevated the brand expression within the Discovery Centre with a custom graphical language set and naming conventions that embraced the spirit of Lakeview Village.
Placemaking Journeys
KDA’s design program creates placemaking journeys throughout the site that lead visitors to colourful art walk portals, narrative panels, as well as engaging interpretive and didactic muralist displays that honour the history and inherent natural beauty of the surroundings.

Giving Spaces Personality
Incorporating unique personalities into meeting spaces and communal areas, KDA developed a framework of naming conventions. The Loft, The Sync, The Studio, and The Gallery have become integral to the Discovery Centre’s daily language.
