Located within the Exhibition Place grounds, BMO Field is a versatile sports and entertainment venue that plays a significant role in Toronto’s sports scene, hosting soccer, Canadian football, and various events that bring communities together. The modern and fan-friendly facility serves as the home field for Toronto FC, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team, as well as the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
To enhance the BMO Field fan-experience, KDA has created a comprehensive signage and wayfinding program that seamlessly integrates and complements the stadium’s dynamic architecture while prioritizing user-friendliness and navigational ease. This strategic approach ensures that on game day, 27,000+ patrons can effectively and quickly locate their designated gates and seats and easily find destinations within the complex stadium.

KDA’s exterior and interior signage and wayfinding program skillfully integrates key branding features of stadium sponsor BMO, through the striking use of colour, circular motifs and typography.
Keeping Score
KDA’s digital network includes a high-resolution, two-sided digital scoreboard that broadcasts inside the stadium to eventgoers and offers sponsor advertising to vehicular traffic along Gardiner Expressway. Additionally, text-based digital tickers are integrated with stadium entry gateways to ensure fans are always part of the game.

Inspired by the form of historic torches and sport stadium celebration, KDA designed a soaring 37-metre tall, three-sided digital tower that dynamically broadcasts real-time events, playbacks, updates and promotions.
LED light strips outline the torch fins and are programmed to illuminate home team colours during game nights – radiating red for Toronto FC or blue for Toronto Argonauts. This adds yet another strategic layer to KDA’s exciting signage program.
Functioning as an iconic landmark, the digital tower commands attention from the Gardiner Expressway and, upon approach to the stadium, generates a heightened sense of anticipation among patrons.
